We are seeking motivated interns to join our Product Development Team in Porvoo, Finland.

We currently have three 6-month internship positions available. The intern will work on one of the products below:

- unsaturated polyester (UP) resins: DCPD resins

- epoxy-vinyl ester (VE) resins 

- gelcoat - For the gelcoat team, we are specially interested by intern from Poland as we have our manufacturing gel coat plant located in Miszewo, Poland. 

tackling real challenges in formulation, testing, and performance optimization.

Example of project: research on a new generation of products to offer enhanced employee safety by reflecting the latest regulatory and industry expectations. 

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with your supervisor to define problem statements and set project goals.
• Formulate a first set of hypotheses, conduct root-cause analysis, and design experiments to test them.
• Collect, evaluate, and analyze data to confirm or refute hypotheses
• Develop laboratory testing protocols and generate data sets
• Characterize the chemical and physical properties of raw materials and resin systems to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Prepare experimental test materials and specimen coupons from resin systems for analytical testing.
• Perform laboratory work using equipment such as reactors, mixers, and analytical testing instruments.
• Independently document and present project data (under supervision) in a clear and structured manner
• Propose improvement recommendations and define potential implementation pathways for successful approaches.

Skills & Qualifications

• Background in chemistry: MSc in polymer chemistry, organic chemistry, or chemical engineering
• Enrolled in or recently completed an MSc (or equivalent) in polymer chemistry, organic chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, analytical thinking skills, and intellectual curiosity.
• Ability to work independently while also being a reliable and cooperative team member.
• Attention to details, patience, curiosity, and ability to work independently with a structured working style.
• Results-oriented mindset, with basic project planning, time management, and data interpretation experience.
• The internship will ideally last 6 months in Finland, starting in the first quarter of 2026, but the exact duration and timing can be discussed and agreed upon. 

Compensation: 

Net financial compensation from the company: around 750 euros / month

Transportation costs:

• flights to go and to return (Poland / Finland) are paid by the company.
• the bus from Helsinki to Kilpilahti is paid by the company (value 200 euros /month)

Lunch vouchers in our canteen (around 200 euros / month)

It means in total: about 1550 euros / month.
